February 18, 2016

I have been very unhappy the last couple weeks.  I had not heard from Patricia, the editor.  She did not return my calls or emails.  Finally, today she called and apologized.  She said she finished with her other project. I have also had a number of aggravating doctor’s appointments.  I guess it’s that age in life. The body just needs more care and maintenance.

All is good now and I am cheered up.  Since it has been several days (again!) I’ll just post a few pictures.

This is our back yard.  The orange kayaks had been filling the space so we stood them on end against the back of the shed and put some patio furniture back there. Andy insisted that I needed some flowers.  I picked a basket to hang on the fence and filled it with begonias. The green in the lower right corner is the bike cover.

Our neighbor Mark had picked up a fallen palm frond and was taking it to the dumpster. We told him he looked like a peacock.

We walked on Smathers Beach in Key West after a doctor’s appointment.

I love pelicans.  For some reason, we don’t see very many in the RV park anymore.  A few years ago, they would roost on top of trailers and attached rooms. This one was at Smathers Beach.

Lovely pictures, Dinata! I feel like I’ve taken a little walk with you through your neighborhood — so pretty! 🙂

I’m glad you felt that way. Taking you along is my goal. The neighborhood is not really pretty at all. I just focus on the pretty stuff.

The flowers and animals are all so lovely! I grew up in Southern CA. before we moved to Idaho, so I am very fond of pelicans, etc., as well! 🙂

And, another good thing about those birds is that they don’t move so fast and it is easier to get a picture of them – most of the time anyway.

That definitely makes it nice! When I try to get a picture of our chickens, they typically come running towards me for a treat! 😉

Thanks. Key West actually has some charming old homes. I intend to get down there again and take some pictures on residential streets.

We’ll get down there at least two more times before we head north for the summer.

wow! what is that “rainbow” looking plant from around the RV park? gaudy gorgeous. or, gorgeous gaudy 😉 your mangrove “garden” and flowerbox are lovely too. what a great view! (waterfront is highly over-rated).

FYI we leave at 0-dark-30 for 10 days in VA for business, doc appts, etc. it’s so irritating — just when the weather is getting wonderful. see ya in a couple weeks.

Yes, she said she was overwhelmed. That is just bad business practice. She should not take on more work than she can handle professionally. I hope she has better skills turning my scribbling into something readable.

I’m glad you are feeling better! I think you are so lucky to be in such a beautiful place! I am hoping one winter we can go south, just have so much to do on this old house! (We are renovating a 100 plus year old house) I enjoy your pictures so much! it is real gloomy out today so they were a treat! Take care, Debbie
