I’m Glad March Is Over

When I look back at the March calendar I see twenty-three medical appointments.  How on earth can two very healthy people spend so much time in clinics, physical therapy, and in dentist and doctor’s offices? I was so miserable with the shoulder pain for weeks and not making much progress in physical therapy.  Arjen (Island Physical Therapy) suggested that I go back to see the orthopedic surgeon, who prescribed an anti-inflammatory drug.  Within a few days, the shoulder pain, swelling, and heat was reduced dramatically. My mood has brightened.

Hugo House editor Patrica has finally contacted me again, after another absence.  She says she is going to get right on the book this time (again). I have already given up on getting it done before we leave for the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

It hurt to hold the camera to my eye so I have not taken many pictures this month. But, I think I am ready to start taking more and posting to the blog again on a regular basis.

There are only four Dr. appointments on the schedule for April.  But that does not include physical therapy, which will resume in another week.  Yay!

I wish. The pain was a downer though. Didn’t feel like doing anything.

now you have to paint the hibiscus like Georgia O’Keeffe! (I can’t believe I have always spelled her name O’Keefe, but the internet says no!) jane

I have always thought it was O’Keefe too.

p.s. If you haven’t seen A Funning Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum yet, volunteer to usher. I think they still need help next weekend.

See you in Callao. We’ll be there in the beginning of July, after our stint in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. And, let’s go eat ribs!

I’m glad the pain has eventually subsided, Dinata. It certainly took some time and you obviously had a tough few weeks. I’m sorry to hear your book won’t be ready before you get out to the National Park. I know you’d set your heart on it – and worked so hard on the editing. But, on a more positive note. it’s good to know you’ll be taking your photos again without the pain. Let’s hope April will be a successful month for you.

Thanks Millie. It has been a few weeks and my shoulder is much better. Still some pain, but not much. We have made progress on the book. I’ll post that tonight. I saw that your book is on A Good Book is Hard to Find. Is it giving you any results?

I’m running out of ideas about promoting my books, Dinata. I think I’ll just give up trying until I finish Book 3. I thought I’d give Jason’s blog a try. He’s a wonderful blogger, with a huge following, but I can’t say sales have improved since he featured my book. I’ll just keep on writing and see what happens later on. I’ll check out your post as soon as I can. I’m only on my blog now and then at the moment, so I do miss a lot of things. Good luck with your book, anyway!

It seems that promotion is the hard part. Since we have not gotten the book done in March, as the publisher promised last fall, I have missed the few promotion opportunities I had planned here.

Our library has a “Friends of the Library” group here and they have regular presentations, usually by authors with their books for sale on a table in the back of the room. I’m going to attempt to get on their schedule next fall. I’ll try to schedule a presentation at our yacht club in the fall too. I have so many photos; it is easy to make a slide show. If I come up with any more ideas, I’ll share them with you.
