First Tomato of the Season

I forgot to post this exciting event last week.  We harvested our first (cherry) tomato on January 21.  Of course, this requires a ceremony.  Then a feast.  I didn’t have any mozzarella cheese on hand, so Andy chose Swiss and I chose feta.  I would not recommend feta Caprese.

How exciting! My husband goes into raptures every time his tomato plants bear fruit!

So do we. We have been out counting and watching them for weeks now. I picked six or seven huge green worms off them the other day. (I used a plastic bag the way dog owners pick up after their pets.) Something has taken a bite out of a number of them. We put netting over them today.

Enjoy your homegrown fruits, nothing like them commercially 😊
