    Gee, I went out kayaking in my green clothes – and got them quite wet with salt water! So I couldn’t wear them to corned beef/cabbage dinner tonight…

    we used neon green seafood festival volunteer t-shirts (Fred had to buy a leftover one b/c he really wasn’t a volunteer).

      Well, I haven’t done the Ancestry DNA test, but Daddy said we were English/Irish. My maiden name, Dail, is Irish. My mother’s name was Brown, which is English. After reading “Born Fighting” that was recommended to me by a man at Olverson’s Marina, I believe thay all came over here in the wave of Irish immigration during the potato famine. (By the way, I just read an article that says it was not a real famine. There were plenty of potatoes. The wealthy farmers were selling the abroad while the poor Irish peasants starved to death.)

      Then you must read “Born Fighting” by James Webb. It is a history of the Scots/Irish immigrating, settling, and contributing to America.

      We have never actually celebrated it either. I do cook corned-beef and cabbage. But, we don’t go to parades or drink beer and party.
