August 13, 2018 – More Eureka Houses

Cordelia, Andy and I took a ride into town for a walk along the waterfront and then lunch with Christopher. This plant on the front steps looked as though it had aluminum foil dropped in the center.  I stuck my finger in to pick it out and discovered that it was water.

Two deer were in the neighbor’s yard as we drove by.

There is a nice waterfront pathway. It was a gray day so the pictures are not great.

We only saw one boat moving.

There is a large marina with pleasure and work boats.

There are also several pieces of sculpture/art.

Cordelia pointed out this building as one of her favorites.  The second floor has two rooms to let.

On the way home, Cordelia drove me past a number of houses that I missed yesterday. If I have repeated any, just enjoy then a second time. I don’t think I need to comment on each and every one.

This is a large one on a corner.

So I got a picture of the side too.

This beauty is different from all the others in town in that it sits on a large property. It is surrounded by an iron fence and I could see gardens and a pond.  There were many trees.

If you are keen on moving to Eureka and fixing up there are many to choose from.

Interesting properties………… I liked the yellow one.
Your picture of the art sculpture made me smile. They erected a ‘Sea Music’ sculpture on Poole Quay many years ago, and I still can’t see anything musical about it!

I Googled it. I didn’t see a hint of music either. In fact, it looks more like some leftover industrial equipment. I read a bit and agree there is a hint of waves and even a squaresail – still no music.

Welcome to my home town. Poole is a lovely place to visit, but way too expensive to live. We lived on a small estate 2 miles out from the town centre, so on a nice day,, I could walk along the bay into work. Poole Quay and the harbour have changed though and the Sunseeker yachts are awesome. The harbour is the largest natural harbour in Europe, but technically the World now since Sydney extended theirs. Bro (in NZ) used to have a water taxi service there.

I looked at a view YouTube videos. It looks so charming. I hope to Visit England in a year or so. I did a genetic test (Ancestry.com) and discovered that I am mostly English. We thought we were more Irish! I’m saving my pennies for the trip. I’ll have to add Poole to my iteneary.

There are some lovely places to visit……… Compton Acres isn’t far away and has the most beautiful themed gardens. I took my Mum shortly after they introduced the deer there. I hope you will be able to include it in your travels.

Thanks, I could have looked up some history but that was too much work. Those houses speak for themselves anyway.
